1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a fantastic robot vacuum that comes with many smart features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most useful features we've seen in a robot vacuum. It is a great choice for both carpets and hard floors. It's also easy to set up and operate and the app will guide you through the process step-by-step. Its ability to restart where it left off during our tests is an additional impressive feature. It was able to do this for 77 minutes on one cleaning, before the battery was exhausted.
The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums we tested comes with a self-emptying bin that automatically dumps debris in an external dirt container on its charging base when it's full. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7, uses cutting-edge floor-tracking sensors that create maps. It also lets you navigate through neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7 is also able to make use of its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO can't.
The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing debris from the surface when compared to other robovacs we've examined, but it's not the best in cleaning corners and edges. It is also less gentle on furniture despite being relatively quiet. It pushed chairs away from walls and made some collisions with the sides of our bed, and it was stuck to cords and toys during our testing.

It also performs well on carpets and scores an excellent score in our tests of navigation. The only issue is that it's noisier than other models, and doesn't perform as well in our owner-satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin of 770ml which means you won't need to empty it as often as some other 2-in-1 robots. The 240-minute runtime is extremely generous when compared to other models we've tried. If the battery is low, it returns automatically to its dock, where it recharges and then resumes cleaning from where it left off. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is among the first robots we've seen incorporate 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations has helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. You can schedule cleanings and set up no-go zones. You can also see the battery status. The app is easy to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple changed its footnote on its website in the beginning of November to reflect that the feature was delayed until 2025. HomeKit isn't compatible with other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.

This model utilizes an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map your home and design efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was rated highly for its accuracy and navigation. It also did a great job of avoiding obstacles such as furniture. It's also able to locate its way back to the base station which is a great benefit in the event it is unable to recharge its battery during cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode allows you to clean a certain area on your floor. It can also be programmed manually to follow a particular route. This is great if you have narrow stairs or hallways. It was capable of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning evaluation however, it had trouble with thicker pile carpets and rug. It is possible to set it up to raise the mop pad automatically whenever it comes in contact with carpet. This is an excellent feature for those who want to avoid having to mop their carpets.
